I paint stories into life

My painting is deeply inspired by the life I have with my family and friends, our home, garden, the wider landscape and animals.  

I love telling stories in paint.  

Recording memories and feelings in a visual way, helps me to understand things a bit better.

The older I get, the more moved I am by the world, by music, flowers, trees, waterways, and the people and animals I meet. 

In my work I am always wanting to show the soft places.  Ordinary things hold enormous tenderness and resonance for me. This is what I am interested in trying to share. 

 I am passionate about helping children find their own unique voice in art. We all have our own voice and aesthetic. There is no wrong way to work – the thing is to work!  

I am more and more absorbed by painting. The learning and problem solving as well as the absolute bliss of the state of flow – when that happens, which isn’t always – but when it is – it is the most magic.
